| Paul Sharp just put a post up on TPI about advice he was given during CP that his eyes should always be active & roving about even during an incident so that target fixation would not lead to motion blindness.
Great link he posted to make the point.
I thought you lot would be interested.

| Like it ... totally works to keep your gaze moving ... staying in peripheral vision does not help interestingly ... unless you shift your eyes. Looking off to the side works too. _________________ Confucius is asked, "What would you think of a man, if all the people in his village liked him"? | Wow.. that's crazy.
Adrenaline really does some strange things. I remember alot of times i'd do something that worked and not remember what it was. Also people would be yelling alot and i'd tune it out, and I know this because of talking to people after the situation.
There is a few other weird things, but I can't think of them at the moment... damn. |

| Mr Sharp has apparently been reviewing Marcus Wynne's blog again or it's just a happy coincidence:

PS - Cool visual aid there...thanks for posting.

| It does help with target fixation and picking up peripheral movement. Been using this general idea for a while now. Back in the day when adrenal management was all the rage the fire arms community first started preaching the use of head movement to help pick up threats, but that takes some doing as well.
Second Phil's comment on the avatar...I'll have to get around to changing mine one of these days.

I have found that I use that alot. It's about the only way I spot see movement at night or dark areas. My peripheral will pick it up right away. _________________ All cuts and bruises are complimentary.
