PostSubject: Cool.. found somebody with similar influences..   Mon Oct 24, 2011 6:51 am

So one of the days I was feeling all anxious and like training I searched and found something about 4 hours away. I won't be doing it for a while, until I recover more and get the doctor to clear me.

I read on the website they offer RBSD, and wasn't sure what their influences were. I just talked to one of the instructors for about 40 minutes and she was trying hard to get me into FMA stuff, which I don't care much about, but she did tell me they pressure test in it, which is good. And then she talked about RBSD and how they are influenced by Tony Blauer, Richard Dimitri and Geoff Thompson. Very cool, that's what I like to hear!

Seems like she sold me on the RBSD from just telling me that, but she kept trying to get me to do FMA. Smile

Personal lessons are $80 an hour, so my plan is to eventually do 2 or so hours of it every now and then, and also any good seminars that come up.

If I had the money and was healed I would be booking a session this week. Smile The other thing that impressed me was she actually spent nearly 40 minutes on the phone talking to me, the last person I talked to about training a while ago (a bjj and muay thai academy) wasn't too friendly at all and sounded like he didn't give a crap and that pissed me off.

Atleast I now know that when i'm better my learning can take off as I hit a bit of a funk training by myself and wasn't really improving much.

Just thought i'd share.

-Ben

Glad you found something that excited you, but 80 an hour. Yikes... seems like quite alot.

Great news, and Phil, it's Auzzie dollars, works out to about £12 and a packet of chewing gum thrown in. Very Happy

(Joking Ben, don't get me).

Hopefully it'll be what you want to make of it. I think potentially you can probably teach them as much as they can teach you, and if they have a client base already and want to expand what about joining them as a tutor? Only a thought.

Hmm, thanks. I actually was thinking a similar thing, it was really just a thought, I feel like my skills aren't exactly at that level and that i'm slow now. Haven't trained for a while. But my one concern is that the instructor hasn't had real life experience. I should have asked.

There's another guy Jim Armstrong who is a senshido rep in Australia and is one of their instructors, or was, he branched off. I may ring him as from what i've seen his stuff is better. And he has had experience apparently. Which I can see when he teaches.

Them already having the client base is a very good thing, good thinking! Smile As I wouldn't be able to find much of a client base here, even just finding a normal training partner who isn't paying is hard enough.

Here is some gum for you Mike..

And a new contraption that come up when I searched for gum that i've never seen before..

WTF?! Laughing
